INTERVAL TRAINING

BURNING MORE FAT IN HALF THE TIME

With interval training you can burn the same number of calories in half the time it takes for a relaxed-pace walk.  Interval training is simply combining short bursts of more intense walking with longer periods of more relaxed walking.

Walk easy for five minutes to warm up, and then pick up the speed to a moderate pace for one minute, followed by 30 seconds of fast, almost breathless walking.  Then slow down to a moderate walk for another minute, followed by another 30-second burst of fast walking.  Repeat this cycle 12 more times, before finishing with a five-minute cool down.

Consider adding some hand weights for additional calorie burning and strength conditioning.
